With my experience in installation plus my knowledge of the overall home, I understand how important it is to get your new roof installed right the first time.

Insurance Claims Guide

I advise all my customers to contact their insurance first to see if they qualify for a full replacement claim. I do not require that you show me the insurance quote. I can help with any part of this process if you need.

  1. Call your home insurance and let them know you would like to make a claim on your roof. This is typically done for hail or major wind events.
  2. A claim rep will schedule a visit and determine if your roof meets their criteria for full replacement. Each insurance company has their own specific requirements.
  3. Upon approval of the claim, an insurance quote will be sent to you with Replacement Cost Value (RCV). You will receive a check in the amount of the RCV minus Deductible and Depreciation. This is your Net Claim. If your insurance allows you to receive all or part of your Depreciation, this will be labeled Total Recoverable Depreciation. Recoverable Depreciation is paid out to you after the repairs specified on the claim are complete.
  4. If you have a mortgage on your home, the check will most likely be issued to you and them. You should contact your mortgage and receive instructions on how to proceed. They will require you to sign the back of the check and send it to them along with any necessary documents.
  5. Once the mortgage has processed your check, they will send you a new check that you can now deposit.
  6. Get the roof replaced and receive an invoice from the contractor with completion date. Send this to your insurance and mortgage.
  7. You should receive the Recoverable Depreciation. If this check has the mortgage on it, then it will need to be signed and sent to the mortgage along with any required documents.
